Same Sex Marriage Amendment; Knox Sheriff's Pension Plan; Author Jane van Ryan

Broadcast Date: November 5, 2006

Among the issues facing voters in this year's election is a Constitutional Amendment banning same sex marriage in Tennessee. State Rep. Bill Dunn, one of the House sponsors of the measure, and Tina McMillan, a representative of Vote No on One, debate the issue.

Also on this week's program, voters are being asked if sheriff's office employees should get a defined pension plan, a plan that could increase property taxes. Kim Waller, president of the Knox County Education Association, discusses the pension question and its impact on local education. We had also planned to have Stan McCroskey, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, join us, but at the last minute he had to cancel his appearance because of a family emergency.

And finally, writer Jane van Ryan discusses her book, "The Seduction of Miss Evelyn Hazen."
