Spending Questions in Knox County Mayor's Office
Broadcast Date: August 12, 2007

Knox County Mayor Mike Ragsdale joins Gene Patterson for the first time since spending questions arose in the mayor’s office.
Anyone who has followed Knox County government in recent months is aware of the controversies surrounding county commissioners, Mayor Ragsdale and his staff. It seems that everyday there are new revelations about mis-spending, or at the very least, questionable spending, by members of the mayor’s office.
Early this week, a former employee caught up in the spending scandal, Margie Loyd, sued the mayor and others, claiming she’d been racially discriminated against, which lead to her resignation.
And Wednesday, several commissioners called for the state comptroller’s office to investigate the mayor’s spending, this despite the fact that a county audit is already underway.
