Knox Replacement Candidate Appointments Raise Controversy
Broadcast Date: February 4, 2007

It was a wild day when Knox County commissioners set about the task of replacing 12 term-limited officials. No one, except perhaps the winners, was happy with the outcome. Accusations of political arm-twisting and backroom deals exploded onto the front page of the newspaper and into stories by local TV media.
Joining Gene Patterson to discuss the events of the week are first-term county commissioners Greg Lambert, R. Larry Smith, and unsuccessful 2nd District candidate Amy Broyles.
Then 6 News political analyst George Korda shares his perspective on the process of selecting replacement officeholders and what we can expect from these new county leaders.
6 News reporter Adam Longo has a special report on Gov. Phil Bredesen's upcoming State of the State address. Adam speaks one-on-one with the governor on what he will say to the legislature.
