Vision for Knox County Schools; Economic Troubles Continue in U.S.
Broadcast Date: December 14, 2008

In September and October, Knox County School Superintendent Dr. James McIntyre hosted a series of community forums as he began to prepare a vision for guiding the county's educational system. He also talked with community members, consulted with educational experts, and studied current school performance data.
Dr. McIntyre presented earlier this month a 22-page analysis of the information he gathered for the school board, and in the first segment he shares his findings with Gene Patterson.
Unemployment numbers released this week offer a bleak outlook for our economy. The jobless rate is the highest it's been since 1982.
In the second segment, UT finance professor Dr. Harold Black offers his views on the economy and the discussion in Congress to provide a bailout package for U.S. automakers.
Then, former Knox County Commissioner Elaine Davis joins 6 News political analyst George Korda in the Final Word.
