Election Day Wrapup
Broadcast Date: November 9, 2008

It's finally over. After more than 18 months of debates, accusations, policy statements and campaign ads, the country has chosen Democrat Barack Obama as the nation's 44th president.
While Obama won by the popular vote by 4 percentage points, he was not the choice here in Tennessee, where some 57 percent of Tennesseans voted for Republican John McCain.
This overwhelming Republican vote apparently carried over into state House and Senate races, as the GOP now controls both chambers for the first time in 40 years.
Joining Gene Patterson this week to dissect the 2008 election is 6 News political analyst George Korda, Democrat political consultant Cortney Piper, political columnist Frank Cagle, and former chief of staff for Gov. Ned McWherter, Billy Stair.
