Lewis Cosby; 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment; Cortney Piper

A possible third candidate has emerged to take on State Sen. Tim Burchett and former Knox County Sheriff Tim Hutchison in the race for Knox County mayor. Lewis Cosby is a CPA and member of the county ethics committee. He has also been a critic of current Mayor Mike Ragsdale and has highlighted problems with the use of P-cards in the mayor's office.

Harlow Sumerford, who is filling in this week for Gene Patterson, asks Mr. Cosby about why he's considering a run for office and what challenges he might face against too veteran campaigners.

The largest National Guard unit in the state. the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment, is headed to Camp Shelby, Miss. After two months of training there, the unit will deploy to Iraq.

Spec. Rose Myers is one of the hundreds of guardsmen leaving their friends and families to serve overseas. She tells Harlow about how the departure of the 278th, which is headquartered in Knoxville and includes more than 3,000 soldiers, will impact families in cities and towns all over the state.

Then, Cortney Piper joins Harlow for the final segment. She's with SRW and Associates. She's considering a possibile of run for State Senate.
