Economic Stimulus Bill; Shakeup in County Committees and Boards
Broadcast Date: February 15, 2009

A stimulus package is coming from Washington. For Tennessee it represents billions of dollars and perhaps a little breathing for what is a difficult budget year for state and local officials.
But the question remains, will it really help our economy? Joining Gene Patterson to discuss the bill that will be presented to President Obama to sign is Dr. Harold Black, a professor of finance at the University of Tennessee.
In the last week, a new dilemma cropped up for Knox County commissioners when the law director said a new state law prohibits commissioners from serving on boards and committees to which they appoint members.
Knox County Commissioner Mike Hammond discusses what it means for how the county does business.
Then, Cortney Piper, with SRW and Associates, and Mike Cohen, with Ackermann Public Relations, join Gene for a final word.
