Wine Sales in Grocery Stores; Changes in Local Historical Preservation
Broadcast Date: March 22, 2009

An issue that is receiving attention during the current legislative session in Nashville is the question of whether wine should be sold in grocery stores.
According to one estimate, a third of all wine sold in the U.S. is sold in grocery stores. All but 15 states, Tennessee being one of them, allows for such sales.
So why not here?
Sharing their opinions on this subject are Jarron Springer, who is president of the Tennessee Grocers and Convenience Store Association, and local liquor store owner Thad Cox.
Later, Gene Patterson talks to Kim Trent, the executive director of Knox Heritage.
Earlier this week on 6 News, Gene reported about the impact of 9 Counties One Vision, the public visioning process that began 10 years ago and resulted in a number of positive outcomes for Knoxville and East Tennessee.
Then 6 News political analyst George Korda and Ackermann Public Relations executive Mike Cohen join Gene for a final word.
