One of the big stories of the past week was the announcement by Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen of a joint effort by the University of Tennessee and Oak Ridge National Laboratory in creating a Tennessee Solar Institute.

The governor says funding, about $30 million, will come from federal stimulus money.

UT Executive Vice President David Millhorn discusses the governor's plan.

Perhaps you've considered running for public office but didn't know quite how to start? That's what Campaign 101 is all about.

The seminar is sponsored by Leadership Knoxville.

Gavin Luter and Mike Cohen have information about the next session of Campaign 101: Seeking Public Office. It's scheduled for Saturday, May 30, 2009, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It will be held at Howard Baker Center and there's a registration fee of $50.

You can find more information at leadershipknoxville.com.

Then, 6 News political analyst George Korda and political columnist Frank Cagle join Gene Patterson for the Final Word.
