Home for the Chronic Homeless; Economic Recovery; Second Harvest Food Bank
Broadcast Date: November 29, 2009

Thanksgiving is a good time to think of those less fortunate. Among them are the chronically homeless.
Last week we heard from Knox County commissioners Mark Harmon and Mike Hammond, who wound up on oppositive sides in the effort to fund a chronically homeless apartment complex in west Knox County.
Joining Gene Patterson in the first segment of this week's program is Jon Lawler. He is head of the group tasked with ending chronic homelessness within the next ten years.
Then, with the holiday season in full swing, it's a good time to check in on the economy with Dr. Harold Black, a finance professor at the University ofTtennessee.
Elaine Streno, the executive director for Second Harvest, concludes the program with a discussion of the challenges of providing food for people in need in our area.
