Knoxville City Council Elections; Candidate for State Sen. Dist. 7 Randy Walker
Broadcast Date: November 8, 2009

A low voter turnout for the Knoxville city elections may be disconcerting to some, but those who won seats this week are grateful for every vote they received.
Joining Gene Paterson in the first segment is 4th District Councilman-elect Nick Della Volpe and 3rd District Councilwoman-elect Brenda Palmer.
The 7th District State Senate seat opens up next year because the incumbent, Tim Burchett, has decided to run for county mayor. At least two Republicans are already in the race, Stacy Campfield and Ron Ledbetter.
Now a Democrat is joining them. Randy Walker has thrown his hat in the ring.
In our Final Word, 6 News political analyst George Korda and SRW and Associates executive Cortney Piper join Gene to discuss the bleak outlook presented by Gov. Bredesen this week regarding the state budget.
