Tough times are ahead for Knox County government. County Mayor Mike Ragsdale has asked all county departments to come up with two budgets, one with a four percent cut and the other with an eight percent cut.

In the first segment of this week's program, Mayor Ragsdale and Finance Director John Troyer talk about the county's fiscal situation.

The annual Lincoln Day Dinner, sponsored by the Knox County Republican Party, is coming up. County GOP Chairman Ray Jenkins tells Gene Patterson in the second segment about this year's keynote speaker, Sen. John Thune of South Dakota.

The dinner will be Saturday night, February 27 at 6:30 p.m., and the program will start at 7:30 p.m. It will be held at Rothchild Catering and tickets are $25.00. Call the GOP office at (865) 689-GOP1 for tickets.

Then in The Final Word, 6 News political analyst George Korda and Kelvin Moxley of the Tennessee Conservative Union wrap up this week's show with Gene.
