State Budget; Filling a Seat on the Knox County School Board
Broadcast Date: January 31, 2010

Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen delivers his final State of the State address in Nashville on Monday. The governor will outline his budget for the upcoming fiscal year and his vision for Tennessee's future.
The budget is expected to be a tight one as Bredesen has already asked all state agencies to tighten their belts with cuts up to 9 percent.
To preview what we may hear Monday night, state representatives Joe Armstrong and Harry brooks join Gene Patterson in the first segment.
This past week, Knox County School Board member Bill Phillips surprised everyone with his announcement that he was resigning his position immediately.
Phillips made the call during a county commission meeting in which he was talking about the process to recall him from office.
Phillips has been under pressure to resign for many months because of domestic violence issues.
In the second segment, Knox County Commissioner Bud Armstrong talks about the appointment process to fill Bill Phillips's school board seat.
Then, 6 News political analyst George Korda and SRW and Associates executive Cortney Piper return this week for another discussion in The Final Word.
