Tennessee This Week enters new territory this week. The program is now airing twice a week, first at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, with an encore presentation at noon on Sundays. Our hope is the new time period will make it more convenient for our viewers to watch and perhaps to comment on what they hear.
Gene Patterson's guest is Rep. Zach Wamp (R-3rd Dist.), who this summer lost a bid to be Tennessee's next governor. Rep. Wamp finished second in the Republican primary to Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam.
Then, the members of our political roundtable weigh in on a somewhat surprising move made this week by Knox County's new mayor, Tim Burchett. He suspended severance packages offered by former mayor Mike Ragsdale to three out-going department heads.
Gene is joined by 6 News political analyst George Korda, SRW and Associates executive Cortney Piper, and political columnist Frank Cagle.
