Rebroadcast: July 24, 2011

Campaigning for the fall elections is ratcheting as the candidates begin their late summer push for votes.
Gene Patterson's guest this week is Republican Victoria DeFreese, a former Knox County Commissioner who is now seeking the State Senate seat vacated by Jamie Woodson.
DeFreese is facing Becky Duncan Massey and Marilyn Roddy, who appeared on earlier programs.
Then the pundits panel gets together to talk about this race and the race for Knoxville mayor. They also discuss the decision by the district attorney to not prosecute the death of Henry Granju, who died after a beating and drug overdose.
Joining in this discussion are Cortney Piper of Piper Communications, political columnist Frank Cagle, and Craig Griffith, who is a former city public affairs director and now communications director with Mercy Hospitals.
