A new organization has been formed to create a vision for East Tennessee that would highlight our strengths as a region and protect our valuable resources for the future.

Two members of Plan East Tennessee join Gene Patterson in the first segment to talk about the organization and how you can get involved. They are Maryville Mayor Tom Taylor and Julie Graham, president and CEO of the Union County Chamber of Commerce.

More information about Plan East Tennessee can be found at planeasttn.org.

Later, Gene talks to the Pundits Panel, which this week is formed by 6 News political consultant George Korda, Metropulse Managing Editor Jesse Mayshark, and Craig Griffith, a deputy under former Knoxville mayor Victor Ashe. They weigh in on the objectives of Plan East Tennessee, and also discuss the failure of the Super Committee in Congress to reach an agreement on how to reduce the U.S. deficit.
