The battle for the 6th District State Senate seat vacated by Jamie Woodson comes to a head in November when voters go to the polls. Republican Becky Duncan Nassey was the winner of a three-way battle in her primary to get to the general election, while Democrat Gloria Johnson ran unopposed.
The candidates join Gene Patterson in the first two segments of this week's program for a discussion of the issues.
Then, Sheryl Rollins tells about an upcoming mayoral forum sponsored by the Knoxville branch of the NAACP.
The forum will be held at the Beck Cultural Exchange Center on Thursday, October 20 at 6:00 p.m. WATE is a co-sponsor and Gene will be the moderator.
